It’s finally 2019, which means that our inaugural NZ-based one-day yoga and meditation events (exclusively for veterinary professionals), ‘Surgery to Sanctuary’ are just around the corner, and we are getting excited!
If you’re thinking about coming, or haven’t heard about it before, and want to know just what we’re offering, you’ve come to the right place. We want to create an educational, yet relaxing and recharging, experience for vets, vet nurses, and anyone with a role in the veterinary industry. The events are open to anyone from complete beginners, to those with an existing practice. Think yoga retreat vibes with a bit of CPD thrown in! Here’s how we intend to achieve that:
SURGERY TO SANCTUARY OFFERINGS
A Veterinary-specific yoga and meditation programme
A day of exploration of yoga and meditation tailored specifically to those of us working within the veterinary industry. We will utilise these ancient practices to find balance for the modern-day veterinary professionals. Check out our itinerary below:
Facilitators who are practising vets and qualified yoga teachers
We have first-hand experience of the physical, mental, and emotional challenges veterinary professionals face, because we are both vets! We passionately believe that yoga and meditation can help us to feel better in our minds and bodies, because not only do we engage in these practices to help ourselves, but we can assess the growing body of scientific evidence which supports that they are beneficial for reducing stress, anxiety, insomnia, etc. We are both qualified to help you to grow, whilst keeping you safe, in your own practice. For more info on Chloe and Sylvie, see here: Introducing the duo behind ‘Surgery to Sanctuary’ in NZ (Feb 2019)
3 hours of CPD included, plus discounts for multiple bookings
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance, which is eligible for 3 hours of Continued Professional Development (CPD). Plus, book BEFORE 10TH JANUARY to receive 10-15% discount on tickets for multiple bookings. Don’t forget- the price included GST, which you can claim back for professional development. See below for details:
Beautiful spaces in natural settings
We all know that connecting to nature can help us to feel calmer and more relaxed, and we are thrilled with both of our venues. We’ll be near the beach in Kaiapoi for our Christchurch event, in a lovely community centre, which opens right out onto the deck for that spacious indoor-outdoor feel. We’ll be up in the trees near Bethells Beach for our Auckland event, in a beautiful purpose-built shala, where you’ll feel you can retreat from the day-to-day stresses. For more info on our venues, see here: Check out the beautiful ‘Surgery to Sanctuary’ venues.
Delicious and nutritious gourmet catering
We want to give both your body and your tastebuds what they need and want, and we have enlisted the help of some great chefs to provide delectable offerings during lunch, and the morning and afternoon teas, which are all included in the price. All the food will be healthy, tasty, cruelty-free and plant-based, so if you’re vegan or vegetarian, we’ve got you covered, and if you’re not, we hope you enjoy discovering how flavourful plant-based dishes can be. All welcome, just bring your appetites!
Everyone loves a freebie
Courtesy of VetPartners Australia/NZ, we have a useful reusable water bottle, and a pair of jandals/flip-flops/thongs (depending on your location!) to give to every attendee. The water bottles are good for you and good for the environment, and an extra pair of jandals always comes in handy during an NZ summer. A big thank you to VetPartners NZ for showing their support for our event.
If this sounds like it’s for you, don’t delay- book now! Get a group of colleagues or vetty friends together to make the most of the discounts, and email email@example.com for a booking form, or with any questions you have.
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE! NAMASTE.
